Our Seniors’ Christmas Social, on Wednesday 29th November, was a sell-out and everyone had a fabulous afternoon. Many thanks to the Rock Choir for providing the entertainment.
The Christmas Party on December 2nd was another success. Thanks to Kevin for organising the singers.
Our next Comedy Club Night is on February 16th. Book your tickets early to avoid disappointment at www.laughingchili.co.uk (scroll down to find Ongar.) Tickets are £15.00. The door & bar open at 7.30pm, and the show starts at 8.30pm.
Other News and Updates
Lots of positive news and updates this month! We’ve been busy since the last “News from Budworth Hall” in December.
We are delighted to have been approved for a grant from the Government ‘Rural Levelling Up’ Fund, administered by EFDC. Many thanks to our chairman, Paul Keska, for finding out that we could apply for this just in time!
We were also given a grant of £5000 from Ongar Town Council towards the installation of a disabled access toilet, which allowed us to start work immediately. This work has now been completed, and some redecoration to make good is underway.
Unfortunately, we had a problem with the upstairs heating in December but are pleased to let you know that new upstairs heaters were fitted early in January.
Finally, a defibrillator, for users of Budworth Hall, has been delivered. This will be in a cabinet inside the Hall as there are already 4 defibrillators located within 200 metres elsewhere in the town.

The Budworth Hall office is closed. The Ballroom, Concert Hall, Committee Room, and Bar Area are available for hire 7 days a week at competitive rates. For any enquiries, please email budworthhall-ongar@outlook.com with your name, telephone number, and the nature of your enquiry. If you have no access to email, please telephone us on 07918 462959 and leave a message. Someone will get back to you as soon as possible.

The onsite Coffee Bar and Restaurant is run by Nerissa and Claire and is open Tuesday – Saturday.
