Ongar and District Community Association Events
Our last Comedy Club Night was another resounding success, despite being held in holiday season when many people were away. The next Comedy Club Night, in conjunction with Laughing Chili, is on Friday November 3rd and will be a great way to escape the winter weather and the woes of the world. Put the date in your diary now! Tickets sell out very quickly so book yours at www.laughingchili.co.uk (scroll down to find Ongar.) Tickets are £15.00. The door & bar open at 7.30pm, and the show starts at 8.30pm.
Our new style Quiz Night is postponed until the new year, but we have two other events planned before Christmas.
There will be a Seniors’ Lunch Event on Wednesday 29th November, 1pm to 3pm. Tickets will be £8.00 and include a fish or sausage and chips lunch, plus entertainment. On Saturday 2nd December we will be holding a Budworth Christmas Party Night, 7.30pm to 11.00pm. Tickets will be £18.00, to include a welcome drink. Look out for further information next month, and on our social media pages.
Additionally, Budworth Hall is hosting a Ride London evening on Thursday 12th October at 7.30pm. This will be a chance to have your questions answered and express your thoughts.
The AGM is on Friday 27th Oct at 7.30pm.
Other News and Updates
ODCA plans to improve Budworth Hall are on-going. The new front doors should be fitted soon and we are continuing to explore ways to update the ballroom. The installation of a new lighting and sound system, redecoration, and general refurbishment are all very expensive so we are having to prioritise. Please continue to support our events to help increase our funds. All profits from events go directly to Budworth Hall.
The upgrading of our website is underway.
We are all volunteers and can always do with some extra help and support. You don’t have to join the committee to be a “Friend of Budworth Hall,” so if you have any spare some time or hidden talents you can share, please get in touch.
Budworth Hall is your hall, and has a licenced bar. The hall belongs to Ongar and is there for all to use so why not come along to one of our organised events, hire it for a party, for a family function or even as a display space for a business event. We also welcome any suggestions or ideas of the type of events you would like to see being held in Budworth Hall. We would love to hear from you.

The Budworth Hall office is closed and we are in the process of streamlining administration of the hall\ We now have a digital diary only. The Ballroom, Concert Hall, Committee Room and Bar Area are available for hire 7 days a week at competitive rates. We have Wi-Fi available throughout the building. Individual pricing applies for weddings, depending upon requirements.

The onsite Coffee Bar and Restaurant is run by Nerissa and Claire and is open Tuesday – Saturday.
