Ongar and District Community Association Events
There are no ODCA events to report on this month. However, we have some events coming up in November and December for you to put in your diary.
Our next Comedy Club Night is on Friday November 3rd. It’s the first-year anniversary of Laughing Chili Comedy Club bringing a top line up of fabulous comedians to Budworth Hall and Ongar, and will be a great way to enjoy a fun evening of laughter and escape the fast-approaching winter weather. Book your tickets at www.laughingchili.co.uk (scroll down to find Ongar.) Tickets are £15.00. The door & bar open at 7.30pm, and the show starts at 8.30pm.
We will be holding a Seniors’ Christmas Social on Wednesday 29th November, 1pm to 3pm. Tickets will be £8.00 and include a fish or sausage and chips lunch, followed by ice cream, plus entertainment from the Rock Choir. Tickets are available from Nerissa and Claire’s café or by contacting us (contact details at the end of this article)
On Saturday 2nd December we will be holding a Budworth Christmas Party Night, 7pm to 12am. Tickets will be £8.00. There will be live singers and a Christmas Disco to get you in the festive mood. Food available from Nerrissa and Claire’s café. Look out for further information and how to get tickets on our social media pages and notice board.
Other News and Updates
ODCA plans to improve Budworth Hall on-going but these are all expensive projects so we are having to prioritise. The new front doors should be fitted by the time you read this and we continue to investigate ways to update and refurbish the ballroom. We are looking at installing a new lighting and sound system, redecoration, and general refurbishment, and restoring the floor to its former glory. We are total self-funding, so please continue to support our events. All profits go directly to the OCDA for the running and maintenance of Budworth Hall.
The ODCA team are all volunteers and are working hard to put on events and improve and refurbish Budworth Hall for the local community. However, we can always do with some extra help and support. We would like to form a “Friends of Budworth Hall,” group of people who may have some spare time or hidden talents to share, and want, like us, to see the wonderful Budworth Hall thrive. If you feel you can help in any way, please get in touch.
Remember, Budworth Hall belongs to Ongar and is there for all to use. Please come to one of our organised events, or hire it for a party or family function, or hire it as a display space for a business event. All hirings help to raise funds. If you have any suggestions or ideas about the type of events you would like to see being held in Budworth Hall we would love to hear from you.

The Budworth Hall office is closed and we are streamlining our administration. We now have a digital diary only. For any enquiries, please email budworthhall-ongar@outlook.com with your name, telephone number, and the nature of your enquiry. If you have no access to email, please telephone us on 07885809869 and leave a message. Someone will get back to you as soon as possible.
The Ballroom, Concert Hall, Committee Room, and Bar Area are available for hire 7 days a week at competitive rates. We have Wi-Fi available throughout the building. Individual pricing applies for weddings, depending upon requirements.

The onsite Coffee Bar and Restaurant is run by Nerissa and Claire and is open Tuesday – Saturday.
